All the comforting flavors of Chicken Peanut Satay in dip form! My Warm Chicken Peanut Satay Dip comes out of the oven puffed, golden, and gorgeous. It’s so inviting with slices of naan on the side.

Warm Chicken Peanut Satay Dip
I love a warm dip at a party. They’re so inviting and just feel like party food to me. My husband and I were recently at a football-watching party (so romantic, I know!), and there was buffalo chicken dip on the buffet table. It was ooey and gooey with that warm, cheesy top—practically impossible not to try. Delicious, but definitely “football food.” It didn’t exactly scream romantic entertaining.
So I started thinking about that dip and how it takes another classic piece of football food—the buffalo chicken wing—and reinvents it into something new. How could I do that in a way that felt a little more elegant and sophisticated? That started me down the path of chicken peanut satay. It’s such a crowd-pleasing dish, but it can be a little messy to serve at a cocktail party with passed appetizers. So what if I took those same flavors and turned them into a warm, scoopable dip?
The result is a total home run of an elegant party appetizer. I use ricotta and coconut milk as the base to keep the texture light and creamy, then add all the flavors that give you that unmistakable peanut satay taste: peanut butter, red curry paste, soy sauce, and lime. Then I fold in the chicken and bake it. The ricotta puffs slightly in the oven and turns golden on top while keeping the dip creamy underneath. When it comes out of the oven, I top it with chopped peanuts and a little fresh herb salad, then serve it with warm naan for dipping. It’s incredibly satisfying, and it disappears in an instant.
I love serving it as part of my Double Date Night Menu alongside Hoisin Salmon and Roasted Carrot Bowls and a Maple Ginger Bourbon Sour. It’s such a fun menu for hosting a small group at home, and this satay dip tends to be the shining star. I love serving a dish like this that plays with people’s expectations of what chicken peanut satay is supposed to look like.
This dip would be a lovely addition to a buffet table or cocktail party all year long. And trust me, if you want to serve it during the big game, you’ll be bringing a little sophistication to some very enthusiastic sports fans.

- Preheat the oven to 375ºF. Prepare a small baking dish, pie plate, or small cast iron skillet (whatever you'd like to serve in) with cooking spray.

- Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish. Bake 20-22 minutes until puffed and golden.
- Remove from the oven and top with peanuts, cilantro, mint, scallions, and a squeeze of lime. Serve warm with naan or other dippers.

Hosting Notes
- I love to serve this dip warm, right out of the oven. Warm slices of naan make an excellent choices to serve with the dip. But have fun picking other dippers like crackers or veggies.
- Don’t skip the fresh herb salad on top! That extra hit of mint really brings the flavors together.
- This dip is best served directly out of the baking dish you’re using. So pick something pretty! I like baking it in a pretty pie plate.
