Hi, I’m Abby, the Mid Century Modern Romantic.  I’ve had a lifelong love affair with romance in all forms—books, movies, television, you name it.  This is a home for lovers of rom coms and contemporary romance with a little recipe inspiration on the side.  I’m always on the search for romance with a fresh spin, thoughtful characters, and writing with substance.  Some of my favorites include Nora Ephron, FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL, Emily Henry, WHEN HARRY MET SALLY, Dolly Alderton, Christina Lauren, Jojo Moyes, Sophie Cousens, anything with Sandra Bullock really, and Josie Silver.  I’m excited about the next wave of romance stars in books and movies.

I wanted to create this home as a place for fans to find new romance recommendations and for like-minded readers to be inspired to find some great recipe ideas and kick back for a story with (fingers crossed) an HEA at the end.  I am a successful television development executive with 15 years experience working in the television industry as a buyer and seller, and most recently I have independently produced romance movies for Hallmark, including a Christmas (KITTY SWIPES RIGHT) and Valentine’s Day feature (A ROMANTIC’S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY) in development. I’ve always dreamed of creating this home as an expansion of my love of working in film and television. I’m a huge fan of the mid century modern style—in fact, my wedding was in a classic mid century modern home in Palm Springs overlooking all of downtown PS. And now I live in a mid century modern home in Los Angeles that is part of a neighborhood of homes designed famously by Charles DuBois and which were once commissioned by Bob Hope.  I think that style says so much about the kinds of romance stories I like—classic, elegant, but with an eye for what’s chic and new.  I am a wife and mom of two boys, and I’ve always found romance stories to provide uplift and good vibes through every stage of life.  I’m excited to share my love of these stories and some great food (and cocktails too!!) with you!
